Running since 2007,  the monthly market and cafe enables local traders, producers, craftspeople and artisans to access affordable retail space and encourages locals to meet and socialise.  In addition it provides opportunities for charities to fundraise and make people aware of their causes. 

 

Each stall-holder pays a small rent for the table and all monies go to fund local causes.  During the years the market has been running it has funded duck houses on the pond, picnic benches, flowers and bulbs around the villages, barn owl conservation, youth club and school bursaries to name but a few.

 

The goods on sale from the stall-holders include fresh, locally produced vegetables, fruits, plants, meat, cheese, breads honey, and baked items, delicious cakes, and drinks, some of it organic.  There are also some craft stalls selling handmade cards, pictures and other items.

Recently the WI have started a stall selling plastic-free items.

The cafe is run by volunteers and serves locally made cakes.
